Every wondered how to create a link tree on your own website for free? Here’s how to easily do just that using the WordPress plugin, Elementor – the free version.
Link trees are great for sites like Instagram, which only let you have one link in your bio. The “tree” is basically a collection of links that you want to present to your followers and they can decide which ones to click on.
You can use 3rd party sites like Linktree, but I don’t recommend it.
Why?
- If you use a 3rd party app, you are adding another step between Instagram and your website. This can reduce the chances that people will click through to your site, which is where you ultimately want them to go so that you can show them more about you and how you can help them.
- Unless you use the paid version, it’s difficult to keep 3rd party apps like Linktree on brand. If you’re a business owner, then branding is crucial. It makes your business recognizable and helps you stand out from competitors, it represents what your business is about and what you stand for, and it establishes credibility and trust.

There are lots of ways to do this, but I’m going to show you how to create a link tree page using WordPress website and the free version of the Elementor plugin. It’s free and super easy – just make sure you have a mobile responsive theme. And when you’re done, be sure to test what the page looks like on multiple devices. If there’s something hinky, you can go back into Elementor and adjust.
