Self-care doesn't need to take a ton of time or cost a lot of money. It's just about finding activities and ideas that work for you and your situation. I've put together a list of 20 things you can try doing just for yourself. Pick a few to try, and keep experimenting. Everyone's self-care practice is different. You've got to do what works for you. Many of my entrepreneurial clients start their coaching journeys with the goal of finding balance, joy and success in all parts of their lives and businesses, but when I ask them about their self-care routines they often tell me that the idea of fitting self-care into their already super busy schedules seems fanciful and unrealistic. There are too many things to worry about, too many tasks to get done, too many emails to read, and too many other people to think about and nurture.

The thing is, self-care doesn’t need to take a ton of time or cost a lot of money. It’s just about finding activities and ideas that work for you and your situation. The important thing is that it makes you feel good and enhances your well-being, be it physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.

I’ve put together a list of 20 things you can try doing just for yourself. Pick a few to try, and keep experimenting. Everyone’s self-care practice is different. You’ve got to do what works for you.

  1. I did a half a morning of self-care, singing loudly (which I can do coz I have no neighbours) and dancing. I noticed I need to do that way more.
I made the smoothie. I’m thinking about the star watching tonight.
Cool ideas, will be writing them down so I can remember.

    • That’s fantastic, Susan! I love that you dedicated an entire half morning to self-care. By the way, there’s a printable version of these ideas (in checklist form) in the Resource Vault. πŸ˜‰

  2. Love this post! Self care often gets neglected. I start each day with self care, I do a gratitude meditation which leaves me feeling fantastic and ready for the day ahead.

    • Oh, I love the idea of starting the day with a gratitude meditation! Thanks for taking the time to read and comment, Keeley. Hope you have an awesome day! πŸ™‚

  3. Such a great little post for us who need to be reminded to take a step back and have some ‘me’ time as life is always so busy and seems to pass by so quickly. Thank you for sharing your little self care ideas. Regards Sammy of Unzipped Fashion Source

  4. Being a mom with four part time jobs, it’s easy to put self care on the back burner. Oh but how we need it all the more! Great list and a great reminder to not get burnt out on life and just take a few seconds to stop and smell the roses!

  5. My new job has kept me very busy, and I hardly have the time for some self-care. Your tips are simple and easy to do. Will start with the victory log

    • Hi Genevia,
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. The thing to try to remember about self-care is that the busier you are, the more you need it. And it can really be as simple as making sure to drink enough water and stretch your muscles every 30 minutes or so.
I’m so glad you’re going to try the victory log. Please let me know how it goes. πŸ™‚
